YIELD AND QUALITY OF WHITE-HEADED LATE MATURE CABBAGE UNDER DIFFERENT CULTIVATION SYSTEMS
Abstract
The aim. To determine the effectiveness of growing systems (intensive, adaptive) on varieties of lateripening white cabbage in different types of crop rotations. Methods. Ffield, chemical, statistical. Results. On average, in 2014–2016, based on the results of biometric measurements, it was established that the cabbage plants of the Selsa X Moldavanka sample developed better, namely in terms of plant height (39.5 cm), number of leaves (13 pieces) and head weight (1.22 kg) ) for an adaptive system. The most optimal variety for cultivation for the adaptive system is Celsa X Moldavanka variety (38.1 t/ha) with a marketability of 86 %, and Stolichna X Ladena (Slobozhanochka) variety Kharkivska Super (36.0–36.4 t/ha) more quickly for the intensive system. On average, over the years of research, the quality of cabbage products of the Kharkiv Super variety and Selsa X Moldavanka, Stolichna X Ladena (Slobozhanochka) variety samples is better than the adaptive cultivation system. Conclusions. In terms of growth and development, late-ripening white cabbage plants grown under an adaptive system are not inferior to plants grown under an intensive system. It has been shown that for the adaptive system the best cultivation of varieties Celsa X Moldavanka, which ensures a safe yield of cabbage heads of 38.1 t/ha and, on average, the achievement of the best biochemical indic ators. Late-ripening white cabbage of domestic selection varieties when grown under the adaptive system has competitiveness at the production level compared to the intensive system.
